Gilbert Plains

Located within an area of rich and fertile farmland, the town of Gilbert Plains was incorporated in 1906 and named for Gilbert Ross, an early M├ętis settler to the area. Visitors to the community can enjoy a number of recreational activities. The Gilbert Plains Golf & Country Club, a challenging and scenic 18-hole course, is located along the winding Valley River on the edge of the community. Gilbert Plains Centennial Park is home to the golf course, as well as a picnic area, campgrounds, wading pool and playground. The Valley River is suitable for swimming, rafting and canoeing.
